July 12th 2003 goes down
in to MDB History has a Day we will never forget, 7 Determined
Anglers met at Marshall Hall to take on the Mighty Potomac
River, One of the finest Bass fisheries on the Eastern Coast
of the United States and "What a Record Breaking Day
it was" Jason Teramae Took his Third Straight MDB Tournament,
Something that had never been done before in the Six year
history
of the MDB, Jason Scored 5 Bass , His second Straight Creel
Limit of the Season an getting a total weight of 8.28 lbs,
beating out Dave Barker who also scored his first ever Creel
limit of five Bass an 5.87 lbs, Delmas Woodall hit 5 Bass
with a total weight of 5.70 lbs to make this the First triple
creel limit in the history of the MDB, but the Anglers were
not done yet, Carroll Higdon 2002's Rookie of the Year
Stunned everyone by breaking the three year standing Lunker
Record with a 19" 3.96 pound LMB that had everyone's
"AWE"! Carroll also added another Bass to bring
his total to 4.83 lbs, Ken Bower also added two Bass at 3.06
lbs to top out the Day! In all 19 Bass were caught Breaking
the old MDB standard of 17 Bass set in the year "2000"
Ken Bower set a personal high with his two Bass, becoming
the First MDB Angler to hit 37 fish and over 70 total lbs
since the MDB was founded. The Record book was really thrown
out the door on this Day and almost totally rewritten, However
Yesterday's Total Weight of 27.62 lbs failed to break the
Single Total Tournament Weight of 34.08 lbs set at the Susquehanna
River in "2000", I guess that's something to shoot
for guys! We missed that by a little over 6 lbs.
